What Could This New Reopening Look Like?
These are some
possibilities
based on what we have learned from other states going through the same process.
Different Salon Hours:
We may have different salon hours and
we may add Sundays, if the government reduces the amount of people in our business space. TBA when we open.
What you need to do as a client:
Please do not come to the salon if
you are sick or have a cold. We may ask you these questions when you
make your appointments by phone or text.
We will ask:
- Have you been exposed to the corona virus, or to anyone that has been confirmed as having COVID-19?
- Have you been coughing in most recent days?
- Are undergoing chemo-therapy or under a doctor's care for a compromised immune system? Please let us know WHEN booking.
- Do you have allergies with
sneezing and coughing symptoms? Please be honest about the difference
between allergies or a sickness!
Please understand, that in order to
protect our staff and other clients, we have the right to refuse to
provide services to anyone exhibiting symptoms.
If you cancel, and have pre-paid any
deposits for services, we will hold your deposit until your rescheduled
time. If you have had COVID-19, or have been exposed to COVID-19, a
doctor’s note will be required to rebook.
All clients will be required to use
our hand sanitizing station in the hallway prior to entering the
Salon. Please bring and wear a mask during salon services. Please
be aware, your mask may become soiled in color treatments. We will have
some masks on hand to purchase while supplies last. We know that masks
may be difficult for the elderly or young children, so please let of us
know of your situation. If you use your cell phone, please sanitize your
hands and keep it in your purse or pocket.
After your service is completed,
your stylist will say goodbye at the station. This is being put in place
to keep individual stylists in their own space and to increase social
distancing within the salon.
We
ask that you pay for your services and products using a credit card
only, so as to eliminate cash transfer at the front desk. However, the
staff would be very appreciative, that if you tip them in cash, you
should put it in an envelope with their name on it. We will have
envelopes available if you forget yours. If this is not possible, then
we will gladly add the tip to your charges as normal.
We will not be providing any snacks or beverages at this time, so please bring your own. No magazines will be out at this time either.
If you need to purchase products in the salon, we request that you
do
not handle or touch products on our display shelves. Ask our
receptionist to help you. She will get the product you need at checkout.
Procedures will be very different at the Salon when we re-open:
We will have curbside waiting only.
There will be no waiting in our lobby area before your appointment until
further notice. You will call the salon, or text us, when you arrive
and then we will text or call you when your service provider is ready
for you.
Our texting service will be available in a few weeks.
We will send out another email when we reopen to start this new
texting/calling capability. A hand sanitizing station will be
available in the hallway before you enter the Salon, please use it.
We may have every other station open to provide the 6 feet of social distancing required.
We may be required to limit our staff on any given day in order to abide by the safe distancing guidelines. There
may be no double booking and a strict 1-client at a time policy.
We will wear masks during your
entire visit and during all services. Stylists will wear gloves for
color and possibly haircuts too (always sanitizing our hands before and
after). Our close contact providers may wear a face shield and goggles
for eyelash services, and manicure and pedicure treatments.
We will not be providing massages at this time until further notice.
We will replace capes and provide
fresh capes after each service. We may use disposable capes to cut down
on our laundry loads.
Our quiet room
may only have
two clients processing at the same time. We will space clients out
accordingly to abide by the safe distancing guidelines. After every
service we will:
- Wipe down chair arms/backs, etc. with an EPA-registered labeled product
- Sanitize shampoo bowls
- Put used capes in the laundry
- All implements for pedicures,
manicures and Lash Extensions will be sanitized in a wet sanitizer as
always and an Autoclave is planned for future use.
- We will now have plastic bags for our pedicure units that are disposable after each client.
Each night after close, we will
sanitize and clean the salon, wiping down all counter tops and doing an
overall thorough cleaning of surfaces that hands may have touched.
Please
be patient with us, and each other, as we put these new procedures in
place for everyone's safety. We will update these procedures when we
reopen through another email blast. Thank you!
